Put your guesses in the comments and I'll reveal all in due course.
Looks like Seville? I was there for work a few years ago, there and the Roman city Vespasian was born in just outside?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Well done, Iain. Seville it is.
DeleteI also visited the Roman city, Italica. I didn't know Vespasian was born there but I did know that Trajan and Hadrian were born there.
I was working in Italica and also in a warehouse that had been next to the river but over time the river had moved, theyd built some of the crafts for the armada in it! I was there through the summer, even the Australians were complaining, Id just spent the winter in Iceland so I was still defrosting! Lovely city.

That was interesting, thanks Iain.
DeleteI’m guessing it’s not Mablethorpe. 😉
ReplyDeleteThink Iain got it. The non-native mariner (Christóbal Colón) pinned it down for me.
Chris/Nundanket
LOL. Nice one Chris.
DeleteLooks like Sevilla to me too! One of the hottest days EVER was spent in Sevilla back in 2011. I have a photo of the same arch as in your Photo #1.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Jonathan. Heat was one of the reasons we went last week and yet the thermometer still got to 27 celsius.
DeleteThe Real Alcazar was everything I expected and more.
You're all wrong, its Clacton.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I passed the "Beware, Farage is Here," road signs as I drove in!
DeleteClacton is one place you won’t see him!
DeleteChris/Nundanket
LOL... very true.
DeleteWhere ever it is Richard it looks very nice. I am guessing that you have had a great time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ben, I had a marvellous time.
DeleteThe Tomb of Christopher Columbus - Seville. I claim my £5 and a pickled Onion!
ReplyDeleteSpot on, Norm. Pickled onion is in the post.
DeleteLooks lovely and others more well travelled than me have said Seville so I am assuming it is, hope you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donnie. Sevile is an incredibly beautiful city. I loved it.
DeleteI was initially wondering if it could be Jaen, but the tomb gives it away. Definitely Clacton-on-Sea as Ray says.
ReplyDeleteThe tomb does give it away, Lawrence. Next time, I will have to make the clues trickier.
DeleteWell I guessed Wigan Pier museum and amusement arcade, but was somewhat wide of the mark;)! Stunning architecture and I will be like a pig in the proverbial just wandering around:).
ReplyDeleteGood guess, Steve. I was that pig!
DeleteI'm going with the Seville crowds answer. I see these pictures flash across my save screen most every day. Enjoy your holiday. Be sure to try the tapas.
ReplyDeleteTapas was greatly enjoyed.
DeleteLooks like a great holiday, I know others went Seville, but I'll be honest as got as close as it was in Spain
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it. History, food and culture. What's not to like.
DeleteI thought Madrid because of the Real reference...but that is based purely on ⚽️!!
ReplyDeleteThe "Real" reference was for the Real Alcazar, which is still used as a royal residence from time to time.
